Therapy for Life’s Turning Points
Support for anxiety, stress, burnout, and the moments where things feel heavier than they look.
Turning to therapy is often a sign that something in your life is asking for attention. Most people already have a sense of what isn’t working, they just haven’t had the space to slow down, sort through it, or hear themselves clearly.
I believe that insight creates room for choice, and choice creates change. My role is to help you trace what has shaped you, notice what’s no longer working, and explore new ways of responding.
I work from a relational, psychodynamic approach, bringing warmth, curiosity, and thoughtful directness to understanding the patterns that influence your relationships and sense of self.
What I Help With
People often come to me when they’re feeling:
burned out or stretched thin
stuck in old patterns they can’t quite shift
anxious, overwhelmed, or overthinking everything
unsure how to set boundaries without guilt
disconnected in their relationships
lost in life transitions, such as new jobs, breakups, moves, or college
weighed down by self-criticism or perfectionism
About Me
I’m Jen, a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#153153) based in Santa Monica, CA. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy for adults, teens, and couples.
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by navigating high-pressure careers and complex family dynamics. These experiences have fueled my passion for helping others find strength, clarity, and a clearer sense of what they want.
In our work, I’ll help you notice the patterns you’re caught in - not from a place of judgment, but with curiosity. We’ll explore the beliefs and experiences that have shaped how you move through the world, and where you could benefit from a shift or different perspective. That could mean looking at how the past shows up in the present, tuning into what actually feels good (which often gets overlooked), or getting specific on what you need but haven’t been able to ask for…and learning how to ask for it with confidence.
Areas of Focus
My work tends to center around anxiety, relationship challenges, burnout, and significant life changes. Within these areas, we explore:
Anxiety and overthinking
The patterns of overthinking, fear of disappointing others, perfectionism, and chronic tension, and the expectations beneath them.
Burnout and high-achiever stress
Work stress, high responsibility roles, difficulty saying no, and the sense of moving from task to task without coming up for air.
Relationship patterns
People-pleasing, conflict avoidance, emotional withdrawal, attachment patterns, and the challenge of asking for what you need.
Life transitions
Breakups, career changes, post-grad shifts, wedding stress, divorce, or the feeling of being between versions of yourself.
Self-esteem & identity
Inner criticism, comparison, questions of direction or purpose, and the desire to understand yourself more fully.
I believe that we all have the ability to shift course, even when it feels messy or uncertain. You don’t have to keep settling for what isn’t working.
Get in Touch
Reaching out is often the hardest part. You don’t have to know exactly what you want from therapy, just that something needs attention.
A consultation call is a chance to talk through what’s been coming up and see whether this feels like the right fit.
